The three drugs used in this composition medicine are used to eliminate the H. Pylori bacteria known to cause positive kinds of ulcers.
Uses
Used in composition with an H2 antagonist to treat active duodenal ulcers cause by H. Pylori infection.
Dark Tongue/Stools: The bismuth may cause a temporary and mild darkening of the tongue and stool. Stool darkening should not be confused with blood in the stool.
Children (over 8) and teenagers who have or who are recovering from chicken pox or flu should not use this medicine to treat nausea and vomiting. If nausea and vomiting are present, perceive your doctor because this could be an early sign of Reye syndrome.
Superinfection: Use of antibiotics (especially continued or repeated therapy) may ensue in bacterial or fungal overgrowth. Such overgrowth may lead to a second infection. This medicine may need to be stopped and other antibiotic may need to be prescribed for the second infection.
Photosensitivity: May cause photosensitivity (risk of sunburn). Avoid continued exposure to the sun or other forms of ultraviolet (Uv) light (eg, tanning beds). Use sunscreens and wear protective clothing until tolerance is determined.
Pregnancy: Do not use this composition during pregnancy. Breastfeeding: tetracycline appear in breast milk. Do not breastfeed while taking this medicine. Consult your doctor.
Children: Do not use this medicine in children under 8 years of age. Tetracycline may cause discoloration and damage to developing teeth. Security and effectiveness in children with H. Pylori have not been established.
Elderly: Use with caution in elderly patients because of potential kidney and liver dysfunction.
Drug Interactions
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or planning to take any over the-counter or prescription medications or dietary supplements while taking this medicine. Doses of one or both may need to be modified or other drug may need to be prescribed. Every drug is capable of producing side effects. Many patients perceive no, or minor, side effects. The frequency and severity of side effects depend on many factors together with dose, duration of therapy and individual susceptibility. potential side effects include
Digestive Tract: Diarrhea; nausea; vomiting; stomach pain; dark bloody stools; anal discomfort; appetite loss; constipation.
Nervous System: Dizziness; abnormal skin sensations; weakness; sleeplessness; pain.
Guidelines for Use:
Use exactly as prescribed. Each dose contains four pills: two pink round chewable tablets (bismuth subsalicylate), one white tablet (metronidazole) and orange and white capsule (tetracycline). Take each dose four day with meals and at bedtime. Chew and swallow the salicylate (pink) tablets, and swallow the metronidazole lets. And tetracycline (pale orange and white) capsules glass ot water (8 ounces). Do not take with milk or other products. Drink enough amounts of fluid, especially with the cycline dose to reduce the risk of irritation and esophagus. If a dose is missed, continue the general dosing schedule until the medication is gone. Do.not duplicate the dose in order to "catch up." If than four doses are missed, perceive your doctor or pharmacist. This medicine includes salicylates. If ringing in the taking with aspirin, consult your doctor about stopping therapy until medicine is completed. Using tetracyclines may render oral contraceptives less sufficient a different or added form of contraception. Breakthrough has been reported. warn your doctor if you are pregnant, become pregnant, are to become pregnant or if you are breastfeeding.
